If you have any issues connecting your VX360 to your Wi-Fi:
- Since the companion app serves as a command center for the device,
ensure all phone permissions are set, as instructed here - Turn off Mobile internet and turn on the WiFi
- Make sure you have selected a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (5 GHz networks are not supported)
If your Wi-Fi router broadcasts separate SSIDs (network names) for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, you'll usually see something like this:
MyNetworkName (or MyNetworkName_2G) - This is typically the 2.4 GHz network
MyNetworkName_5G - This is the 5 GHz network
For more details, check this article Separate band setup for VX360 (2.4 and 5G)
- If your router broadcasts mixed bands - one SSID,
check this article Mixed 2.4 and 5G band setup for VX360 - Make sure your Wi-Fi security settings are set as follows:
WPA2-PSK (Personal) mode is standard for home and small business networks.
AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) is more secure and efficient than TKIP. However,
WPA/WPA2 TKIP+AES mixed mode is supported as well.
(WPA3 and MAC randomization can block auto-reconnection) -
2.4 GHz Optimization Settings:
Wireless → 2.4 GHz → Advanced (paths vary on different routers)
Recommended:
Channel Width → 20 MHz
Channel → Manual → 1, 6, or 11 ( very important)
Wireless Mode → Mixed / Legacy Compatible
Save the changes you made in the router settings
On your phone: - Rescan networks and connect to the 2.4 GHz network first.
- Double-check that you’ve entered the correct Wi-Fi password
- Go to the companion app's Setup WiFi page, Tap on the Refresh button to rescan networks
and try to connect to your dedicated 2.4 network
Sometimes it is needed to try several times until it connects.
In case it automatically connects to 5G again, access your router settings and temporarily uncheck "Enable 5 GHz Wireless" (if that option is available), save changes and reboot.
After that, you should be able to connect to 2.4 GHz successfully. - Update your VX360 device to the latest version after you have connected to your Wi-Fi
